4 Steps to stay happy; always...

January 24 2016 – Joshua Levi Rasen

" When you are lost in a moment, you stop manipulating & start BE-ing; the moment takes over, you lose all sense of control, you are nothing yet a part of everything; fear disappears, anxiety disappears, self-importance disappears and all that's left is love & happiness... You become one with life & life becomes a magical journey..."

-Based on our personal encounters with life as life itself..

Have you ever wondered what did Siddhartha Gautama mean by "The mind is the source of happiness, and unhappiness,"?

According to the Buddha's teachings, if we can control our mind, we too can become enlightened; the question is, what is the state of enlightenment and how?

Is it really possible for us to achieve such a state in today's world?

How can we leave everything behind; our loved ones, the life we have built, the wonders of this world, and seek solitude in an attempt to achieve nirvana, an attempt to conquer our minds and become one with the universe? Do we need to become monks to attain such bliss? Do we need to denounce everything in order to find real happiness? Can we truly be happy in this life?

To be enlightened is to be in the moment; to be present... The purpose of spirituality (regardless or race, creed or religion) is for us to achieve inner peace so that we can be one with the universe; and the only way to do that is to be alive in each moment with the ones that we care about...

Here are 4 tips for a happy life...

1: Expect nothing and you will receive everything...

Exactly as it says! Think about this for a moment...If we do not expect anything to happen from anyone, everything  that really happens comes to us as a surprise and a blessing...

2: Life happens for you; not 'to' you...

Did you know that only 8% of what we worry about comes true and 92% doesn't? What were you worrying about at this exact time, last year? Did it come true?

Our secret to living a better life each day is to just let go and trust that everything is right where it is supposed to be; and that it will all work out alright...

Life throws us with challenges and successes that we are prepared to handle...

To keep it simple, if something good happens, be thankful for it; If things don't go your way, just understand the lesson, understand what life is trying to show you and move on...

So stop worrying and start living!

3: Get lost in a moment...always...

Forget your phones! Forget Facebook, Instagram or any other forms of social media. It's time to get social in real life...

Have you ever been so lost in a moment where you lose control over everything that is around you?

Be it in dancing, singing, playing music, doing art, taking a walk, jungle tracking, playing with your kids, a family reunion dinner, watching a movie, reading a book, romantic moments with a loved one, anything...

Have you ever lost track of time doing something?

That is what being present is all about; that is living the moment; that is feeling alive and aware of all emotions that surrounds you; that is love; that is happiness...

The trick is simple, just get lost as much as you can each day...

4: Choose happiness; everyday...

Each day when you wake up, you have to ask yourself a very simple and important question; Do you choose to be happy today or unhappy?

Trust me, it really is a choice... Try it!

If a situation irritates you, don't react to it. Just tell yourself, 'I choose to be happy today' and see what happens...The situation bothers you no more..

The same is true for being unhappy..

Having said all that, life in all its glory is beautiful, sad and everything in between....So we wish for you a happy life, colorful experiences & many unforgettable moments to come...

Stay different; stay real...always...
