"If you are currently in a situation in need of emotional healing, then this may be the reason why you are drawn to this piece. One of the hardest pain for us to overcome is the pain of loss; be it through death, break-ups or abandonment. Having undergone more than one of this in our lives, we can say that it is not something that you can overcome overnight; but it is something that you can learn from to move forward..When my father passed away, it was one of the most difficult periods in my life. We had a very special connection with each other despite our love-hate relationship for one another. The circumstances in which my father left the world made it even harder for me to overcome. There were things about my father's life which only I knew and things about my life which only he knew which we kept as a secret between us. Though we may not always see eye to eye, however he was the person I most looked up to ever since I was a little boy. His love was the one I craved the most; and just as things were getting better, God decided that he loved him more....From his death, I discovered that loss can be a form of stress whenever we find ourselves constantly thinking about them or the things that we should have done. If we're not careful, we can easily slip into regret, thinking about all the 'What If's' until it gets to a point of overwhelm; crippling your whole system like a virus in a computer. I got to that point....However, being the man of the house with some of the responsibilities now resting on my shoulders, I knew that I had to man up and learn to overcome this emotion as quickly as I can before it damages everyone else that was depending on me..In that moment, I decided that his death was meant to be a lesson to me; a lesson to treasure the moments and appreciate the time that you have with your family. It taught me about the importance of learning from your elders, to know their story of their glory days vs trying to outsmart them. It taught me about the importance of forgiveness; that once death happens, the only thing that remains in your mind, are the good times that you shared. In my experience with my father, the bad times slipped away, becoming either distant memories or funny events to recall. Nothing mattered. Not one single argument mattered. That was probably one of my greatest wake up calls....By giving meaning to his death, I made peace with his passing and with myself; taking it as life's way of showing me the blessing of Life itself. I learnt that life is short; that we are a mere spark in the years the Earth has been around. But the miraculous thing about being this tiny spark is, we sometimes get the chance to be remembered....So I want to leave you with one question to ponder upon, "How Would You Like To Be Remembered?".This piece was made with the intention of helping us overcoming the stresses in life caused by the loss of someone or something significant in our lives; and to help us look deeper into our emotions in order to learn and grow from our experiences..."..
