"If you find yourself connected to this piece, chances are is that you may be feeling the urge and need to open up your heart to world around you again. There may have been incidents in the past which may have caused a block in your heart; such as tragedies you may have witnessed, abuse, heartbreak or the loss of someone you love; and though it may have taken a while for you to get over it, you are certainly prepared right now for the next phase in life.

Sometimes when we've been hurt so bad, we tend to shield ourselves from the world around us; protecting that precious light inside of us that still sparkles from being blown out. I remember the time I got out from a very painful relationship. I was pushed to a point of hatred towards every single girl I met because of the betrayal I faced. Though it wasn't the first time I was betrayed, it was certainly the most painful as we were almost engaged. 

I remember making a decision to never allow anyone into my heart again until I was extremely sure. I didn't mind breaking the heart of others; in fact, I had a philosophy of 'Use before you are Used', which not only became the cause of many ruined friendships; but it also turned me into someone I didn't know I could be...

However, meeting CG in my life changed everything in me. I remember wanting to give her my all; to open up my heart to her completely; but because I've been closed up for so long, I no longer knew what it was like to love unconditionally. I knew that if I was to deserve her love, I must learn to love once again; but where do I begin?

No matter what your story may be, you may currently find yourself in a place where you want to open up yourself again, however the trauma caused by your past is somehow holding you back; keeping you from opening your heart fully with the fear of getting hurt all over again. 

The first thing that we must realise that we are the sum of our experiences. Everything good or bad that has ever happened in our lives has only ever done one thing, which is to contribute to our own personal growth. By 'NOT' allowing ourselves to feel each emotion; be it pain, sadness, anger, happiness, joy, sorrow, heartbreak, etc. we are blocking ourselves from the light that is meant to enter. 

As Rumi said, "The wound is where the light enters", and that our task is not to seek for love, but to seek for all the barriers within ourselves that we have built against it." By 'Accepting' everything that has happened in your life as part of a 'Grand Conspiracy' from the universe to make you whole, you begin to open yourself up to the blessings of life. You'll begin to see that life isn't as harsh as it seems; that everything 'Good' that has ever happened, is meant to reassure you that life is beautiful; and every painful moment, a chance for growth.
